Trying not to think of calorie restriction theory as solid intellectual ground. It seems a good enough practical ground to move upon. Theoretically it is a patchwork of surmise. I have all but given up CR except as a practical habit. I practice CR without being very convinced anymore. I do not count upon it as I would upon anything very promising. I suppose it remains a valid part of experimental protocol in biology.

I am not waiting for anything better to come along.

The only nutritional certainty apart from starvation in the absence of food: The fatty acids of cold organisms such as that of oily fish and the oil extracted from plants growing in cooler climates such as linseed, do not belong in warm organisms.
